Well, since the build has taken up so much room, I figured that I'd start a new thread for the actual painting of this beast.

Here you go.

This first airbrush coat is of desert sand by tamiya.  I was attempting to produce shading effects with the gun.  Splotches of color, metals, and rustyness is the way to go on this thing and also randome pools of chemicals and other juice will be added as we go.

The powerstation and the skullplate on the crane are going to get some more detail as we go along.  I am also going to be adding some 'graffiti' with the airbrush too.

The next phase is to work on the base and the platforms with the forgeworld powders, and to 'chip up' the bulkheads with a technique using a sponge and different metallics, to show the metal 'wearing throught the paint and the muck.  This is one of the subtle things that I've been perfecting out of the forgeworld book, and then its time to make up some washes and different metal highlights to the rest of the piece.

Thank you very much indeed sir!  The factory is going to have more colors on it than the junkyard so I started with a streaking style using the airbrush.  You spray in horizontal lines first and then you go over those with vertical and then crosing diagonal passes to get a somewhat uniform look without actually doing a 'covering' coat with the paint.  Hopefully this will allow me to add a few more colors to it without it looking 'stripey' when they dry.  Here's hoping;).

Another yellow skull that just didn't come out right.  I'm going to have to change my brands of yellow.

Skullplates detailed and washed.  Everything got a metallic rusty shean to it and then I added a little dust and soot with the forgeworld powders.

I'm calling it playable.
