Basically the idea behind this is to get people involved more in the modelling aspect that is D-co.  You might have seen similar things on other websites and this is kinda looted from those, but this of course is only D-co stuff.

On a monthly basis, I am going to be posting challenges for myself or any D-co members on projects that will be done in a certain 30 day time period.  These 'Challenges' can be anything that has to do with modeling of anykind, 40k, FOW, Battletech, Warhammer fantasy, terrain, etc., etc.  Pictures should be posted in the Army building projects section, if there are any.  I am not going to be handing out prizes or anything, but it would be nice if we could keep them out of this part, so that people without cameras can update us on how they are doing.

We are going on the honor system here, so if you say you've done it, I'll believe you.

I will post the challenges in the order that they happen on this main page and recycle the months accordingly.

If you have any questions, post them or PM me and we will get everything sorted out.

'Challenges' for the next month will begin on the 27th of every month, and will be closed by the 5th.  There will be, of course exceptions to this rule, and  that will be handled on a case by case basis.  Challenges will be colored black when given, and turned violet when they are accomplished.

WARNING:  It is understood that everyone is not at the same level with modelling.  Please keep this in mind if you are critiquing peoples work.  I am trying to show off D-co's awesomeness with this, and if we can keep the flaming down to a minimum, I would appreciate it.  Non-compliance with this very simple request, will be handled with force.  The Hammer of Dawn will be unlocked, and used with impunity on anybody who abuses this, and will be driven off the site posthaste.  You have been warned!

I had some unforeseen challenges last month.  I got a lot of the stuff I said I'd do done, but some had to fall by the wayside as I picked up other projects that came to me last minute.

Seeing as how I have pretty much destroyed my apartment with paint pots, brushes, X-acto knives, GW boxes, and plastic sprues laying everywhere and two different modelling and painting stations setup where there previously had been NONE.... I think my challenge this week will be to clean all that shit up!

HMMM,

I've got a new FW dreadnaught drop pod to clean, build and paint. Not sure if I'll get to it this month.

Last month I got everything cleaned up for the ravenwing, and finished my speeders. They look dusty and grimy and like they've been on a long campaign.

I cleaned up the bikes, but I'm still working out how I want to "fix them." I like how a hard grey drybrush looks like battle dust on the speeders, but the bikes need some detail work as well. Have to think through it a little more before I start working on them.

My big project this month will be collecting the bits and models for a highly converted set of salamander terminators with thunderhammers and lizardman shields. This will give me three squads of ten (for a total of 63 sallie terminators) but each squad has a little character. I want this squad to really stand out, and since I already have 20 models, I can spread out the work for awhile.

Other than that terminator squad, my model acquisition process is complete for awhile. I have couple of small projects. I have a lascannon salamander devastator to build and finish painting. I have some BFM bolter marines I want to paint to fill in some gaps in some devastator units.

I want to do some additional drybrushing/stipling on some of my sallie vehicles I painted earlier on so they match the T-Hawk and my pods. I like the look alot, and want to make the army a little more uniform.

Since the big game is close, I'm going to keep it simple this month and just try to get the pod and some of sallie infantry done. Everything extra will be bonus.

Going to finish off the Space Hulk Terminators.  I went with a scheme similar to Blood Ravens from DoW.  If I get them done, then I'd like to get to the Genestealers.  I think I am going with the classic Purple and Pink Head scheme there
