Basically the idea behind this is to get people involved more in the modelling aspect that is D-co.  You might have seen similar things on other websites and this is kinda looted from those, but this of course is only D-co stuff.

On a monthly basis, I am going to be posting challenges for myself or any D-co members on projects that will be done in a certain 30 day time period.  These 'Challenges' can be anything that has to do with modeling of anykind, 40k, FOW, Battletech, Warhammer fantasy, terrain, etc., etc.  Pictures should be posted in the Army building projects section, if there are any.  I am not going to be handing out prizes or anything, but it would be nice if we could keep them out of this part, so that people without cameras can update us on how they are doing.

We are going on the honor system here, so if you say you've done it, I'll believe you.

I will post the challenges in the order that they happen on this main page and recycle the months accordingly.

If you have any questions, post them or PM me and we will get everything sorted out.

'Challenges' for the next month will begin on the 27th of every month, and will be closed by the 5th.  There will be, of course exceptions to this rule, and  that will be handled on a case by case basis.  Challenges will be colored black when given, and turned violet when they are accomplished.

WARNING:  It is understood that everyone is not at the same level with modelling.  Please keep this in mind if you are critiquing peoples work.  I am trying to show off D-co's awesomeness with this, and if we can keep the flaming down to a minimum, I would appreciate it.  Non-compliance with this very simple request, will be handled with force.  The Hammer of Dawn will be unlocked, and used with impunity on anybody who abuses this, and will be driven off the site posthaste.  You have been warned!

Alright.  I'll try this once more I suppose.  Last time around was sort of a wash-out since I didn't paint squat, but modelled more than I had planned on.

So this time around... NO MODELLING!

Paint:  Long Fangs Pack, Grey Hunters Pack (plus some additional Grey Hunters for use in other packs), Blood Claw Biker, Terminators, Wolf Lord Kyuss Krakenslayer, Sven Skullhewer, Rhino, 2 Razorbacks.

oh and i guess i still have to model one of those Razorbacks.... damn it! :P

My project for February is a bit different than my recent project list. Rather than build and paint a set of models, I'm going to work on cleaning up and doing some detail work on my Ravenwing army.

I built the Ravenwing army during my return to 40k in edition 3.5. It was supposed to serve as a "black marine strike force" to go along with a large collection of first and second edition stuff I recovered from my high school rouge trader days.

I bought the lion share of the army off ebay for less than $100. When I got it, it was entirely a set of broken models, bikes and speeders, some of which were partially primed red. I laid it all out and started making models one by one out of the parts.

I sprayed the models black, and went from there to the table. Every so often, I'd go back to the pile of parts and put some more models together. Eventually I had enough to field a 2000 point army.

I was good to go for awhile, but I really enjoyed playing the army, and wanted to make it look a little better, so I added some bits to the bikes and to the speeders. I went through this fix-up cycle a few times, eventually adding resin bases and ravenwing shoulder pads to most of the models.

The army looks a little rough, part by design, but also by the nature of how it was painted and assembled. Since arts and crafts started, and my skills are marginally better than ever before, I've decided to give the ravenwing another once over. I'd like to clean it up this time, and add some detail to some of the models. It still won't look great, but given the army's history I'll settle for looking better.

Put me down for a ravenwing cleanup mission for February.

Keep it up buddy;).  I am working on the back door for my monster and cutting rivets.  Wholly christ does this thing need rivets.  I will probably get the finer details on the 'hall' today as well.  We'll see where the day goes.:)

LOL!

Yeah, don't just show up in a cardboard suit with a bunch of toilet paper tubes glued to your chest for guns.

...actually, no... I changed my mind.  You SHOULD do that!  :D
