Ok Lads,

It looks like 2009 is going to be huge for our crew. I recommend making your decision on whether or not to attend soon.

As a group, we are staying at the Holiday Inn again this year.  Here's the information.

Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites
ROCKFORD-LOVES PARK

7552 ROCK VALLEY PARKWAY
LOVES PARK, IL 61111 UNITED STATES

I understand a few people are considering staying at the nearby hotel as well. Many people have gotten rooms already, and if you will attend, I suggest that you do so as well.

Operationally, a few of us are debating whether to head down Late Thursday night or early on Friday. Either way, my goal is to be on site with the bulk of our stuff unloaded by 9:30am. We'll set up our tables, signage and the Friday Floor game.  I'd like the annual parking lot shotgun start by 1pm, with dice rolling for the first turn of the Friday game by 2pm. Even with a food break, that would give us a solid 9 hours to play the Friday Floorfight game.

Saturday will follow standard operating procedure. 8-10 tables will be available 9am-Midnight for games, and I hope to keep the floor matt available, but it will depend on space and what's happening with Antina's needs.  We may just have to cut down the space a little. We'll have Death Drag racing throughout the day and the annual Grudge Match on Saturday night as well. Joe and Nigel have some scores to settle and Dale and I are going mono y mono in the Battle of the Green, but I'd like to get some smaller games (2000-3500) in as well.

Sunday's events will depend on how out of hand Saturday gets. There's some talk of playing some battletech and space hulk games on Sunday before we pack out, both of which could be really fun.

I don't know much about GW's games, but they will be on site. Maybe we can buy them some beers again this year.

CT

Okay,

Spoke with Antina yesterday. We have 10 table setups, plus a space for the floor-game in our corner. We can leave the floor game setup all weekend if we want so if you guys want to do something big on Saturday while Dale and I kick each other into submission, that will be an option.

Tables are being delivered at 8:45am on Friday. She has asked that an early crew be available to assist with setup.

GW's area will be adjacent to ours. Let's show them how its done.

I have purchased another round of table felt. We have lots of options now, but we'll have green, tan and snow setups on the tables this year. If you need felt for a future big game, come talk to me before you buy anything.

We may need some terrain pieces. Don't over-do it when packing, but if you have a small selection of hills in either green or tan, consider bringing them along. If you have questions, PM me.

Hotel rooms are going to be hard to come by apparently, so if you are going and haven't gotten a room already, I suggest you find some place to crash on the floor.

D-Company will have half price badges this year. Rather than take up a collection, I think this is a better plan. We want this con to continue, so expect to pay $10 for the whole weekend, but I need your name on the list before 10-15-09.

As of today, (edited 9-18) here is the list I have......
  1. Chris
  2. Joe
  3. Kurt
  4. Ben
  5. Nigel!
  6. Dan H.
  7. Dan B. (Saturday)
  8. Kevin T.
  9. Kevin
  10. Steve E.
  11. Dacio
  12. Dale
  13. Jake
  14. Tim
  15. A.J.
  16. Rockford Steve
  17. Rockford Rob
  18. Jedly
  19. Andrew
  20. Michael
  21. Braden
If I have forgotten you, or you'd like to attend, please PM me.

If you can let me know what your travel plans are and what armies/points you are planning on bringing, that would be a big help. Also, let me know if you're willing to take some time to watch over the racing board or battletech games.

Stay Tuned.

Well hell, I have not made a reservation yet, yeah yeah I know I have dropped the ball.  So I  guess me and Jay will need to find some floor space.  Let me know how much it is and the badge and I will have the monies (at least my share) ready as soon as I make it there.

As for set up, count me in.  Just tell me what I need to do to help out and you got it.

-D

1.  How about if all the people seeking floor space just get a hotel room together?

2.  I'm not planning on signing up for anything, so just stick me wherever.  I would like to play BattleTech.  If I have to run it, that's no problem.  I'm going to try to bring around 2,500 points or so of Wolves (and their NEW codex) as well.

3.  I do need a ride to/from the airport, or notification that I can't get one so that I may rent a car or get a bus ticket or take a train or whatever.

I think this will be a good opportunity to show off D-Company's armies.  I would very much like to bring my whole Iron Warrior Legion which is upwards or 12,000 points.  I will also have my 3,000 points of Traitor Guard (Using Vraksian renegade rules).

As for transportation let me know who wants to go down on thursday i would prefer to go then.

As for hotel room I have a cot so all i need is a small amount floor space about 2.5 feet wide by 6 feet long.  and i guess room for my figs somewheres

It looks like I have a ride down on Friday night, but I kinda want to stick around on sunday from noon to 3pm to watch the Bengals beat the Bears (i hope i hope).

Is anybody heading back Sunday afternoon who could drop me at the Milwaukee airport around 5:30-ish?

Seriously?  What the fuck is this?  I wrote "GreatestPlaceOnEarth".   **edit* Oh! how hella "cool" :X  every time I write m-i-l-w-a-u-k-e-e it comes out as greatestplaceonearth.

Does this go for everyone?  Or is it just me?

I mean... "haha".  Nice joke.  But c'mon.  I'm bothered enough by the fact that this board - which could use a serious organizational make-over - seems to create dozens of new forums each month.  I really don't need Mods coming in here and changing what I fucking type.

Now I have to worry that anything I write could be changed?  What's next?  People quoting me from posts I never wrote?

"haha"  Funny joke.  Knock it the fuck off.

This appears to be a symptom of having more moderators on this board than regular members.

Me too.  I have no idea why it does that, nor do I have the mojo to fix it.

But, really, it will be somewhere down the list from taking care of my kid, going to work, keeping up my household, painting my neglected armies, actually gaming, dating, world peace, getting a peice, etc.

I'm guessing it's a computer programmer/enginseer trick.  I wonder if we have any of those...?
