2009 Events:
[sFloorfight Friday!] The Rockford Perimeter]
“Mork-Jun-Kil,” leads his large force of “orkoreans” across the DMZ in a full frontal assault on the Imperial Territory. Lord Sheldon has fallen. Can the Imperials regroup and repel the attacking forces of the green tide?
Kick off the Rock-Con weekend with a full frontal attack, 40k style. D-Company will again be setting up an epic sized floor matt with terrain for a large scale battle. Who will claim the title in this massive struggle between the might of the Imperium and the Forces of Disorder?
This “kill them all” event is open for to up to ten experienced 40k players. Players should bring a fully painted army between 2000-3500 points, dice, templates and tape measures. Players should wear socks and be physically prepared to play on the floor.
Coming to Rock-Con a little later on Friday? Forces will be added at the top of each turn sequence.
----
Grudge Match
War is often fought over territory, religion or resources. The Grudge Match is a battle for honor and the glory of trash talking one’s vanquished opponents. Ready your men and your machines. Carnage is at hand!
Join us for our 6th annual Rock-Con Warhammer 40k Big Game. The Forces of Disorder take on the Forces of the Imperium in a Saturday Night Showdown for the bragging rights. Bring a fully painted 2000-2500 point army, (one standard force organization chart and up to one super-heavy vehicle) and take a side in this year’s epic D-Company showdown. Multiple on-table objectives will be in play, with prizes for the top generals.
As a D-Company event, Grudge Match is not for the weak of heart. Expect quick game-play and heavy trash-talking. Strategy is for the simpleton, it takes guts to prevail in this game. Setup begins at 5pm, with dice rolling by 6pm. We play until one side is destroyed or midnight, whichever comes first.
----
40k Scenario Games
By popular request, (and a mandate from the folks who run Rock-Con)
D-Company will be running a series of Warhammer 40k Scenario games this year. Bring your army and we’ll match you up with an opponent.
[size=Scenario #1: Bugs!?!]
[size= ]
Inquisition Stormtroopers backed by a detachment of tanks move into a city infested by a genestealer cult. Can the small task force find and kill the Magus in time to prevent a planetary infestation?
The minis, tape measures, dice, terrain and the scenario will all be provided by D-Company for this event.
[size=Scenario #2 Curse of the Machine God!]
The rumors of a partially intact STC template have brought multiple forces into the Valley of the Adepts in search of the temple mount’s treasures.
As your forces have scattered in the valley’s many twists and turns, the temple and lead elements of enemy forces come into view. You must consolidate your forces and launch an assault for control of the temple. But beware, the enemy is not the only danger awaiting you…
Players should bring a painted 1750 point 40k 5th edition army for this event. Terrain and the scenario will be provided by D-Company.
[size=Scenario #3: We Attack at Dawn.]
[size= ]
It’s the dawn of another war in Imperial space and nothing says war like a full frontal attack with large combined arms forces. Your orders arrived just before dawn. Move quickly to engage the advancing enemy forces in the wasteland. Keep your inertia and secure the vital defensive ground between the spires. Capture enemy supply stocks, and oh yeah, kill more of them than they do of you. It is just another day in the 41st millennium.
Players should bring a painted 1750 point 40k 5th edition army for this event. Terrain and the scenario will be provided.
[size=Scenario #4: Lunch Money]
That ill-planned full frontal attack has depleted your supplies. As your higher ups promise you a re-supply “sometime soon,” you decide to take matters into your own hands.
Luckily the early fighting has left an abandoned supply stockpile near your lines. Unfortunately the supplies are in the dead-man’s land between you and your enemy, and even worse, his men are much hungrier than yours.
Players should bring a painted 1750 point 40k 5th edition army for this event. Terrain, loot counters and the scenario will be provided by D-Company.
Scenario #5: Slaughter in the Snow
Your higher ups have done it this time. It wasn’t like the extended fighting on the front lines was bad enough, now they’ve posted you and your men to protect a outpost in the polar region. Suddenly the heat of the trenches doesn’t sound so bad.
As you move into your new Area of Operations, the cold weather becomes a blizzard just in time for your scouts to sight enemy forces staging for a probing attack. It looks to be a long night.
Players should bring a painted 1750 point 40k 5th edition army for this event. Terrain and the scenario will be provided by D-Company.
Battletech Scenarios: By popular demand, D-Company is offering a slate of Classic Battletech Games in 2009.
Scenario #1: Full Contact
3058. Chaos March. Fighting has broken out and mercenary raiders under control of House Steiner have used a combined force of battlemechs and heavy tanks to take control of a strategic transportation hub. With their supply lines threatened, a scratch force consisting of elements of the 4th Davion Heavy Guards and the 22nd Recon Battalion is assembled to dislodge them. The deadly street to street battle promises to be up close and personal. Can you say AC-20?
Record Sheets and Miniatures will be provided.
Scenario #2: Power and Glory
3052. After a series of pirate raids by a unit of light, fast battlemechs destroys a forward supply base, House Steiner sends in some heavy battlemechs to put and end to the pirates once and for all. Will speed or power rule the day? Record Sheets and Miniatures will be provided.
Scenario #3: Big Boys, Big Toys
3058. After a series of harassing actions, Steiner and Davion both decide to settle the issue with their heavy elements. Heavy and Assault lances square off for control of a downtown residential area. Record Sheets and Miniatures will be provided.

Looks awesome. It also looks like a LOT. Were there this many events last year? Or is this just a preliminary list that you hope to pare down to something managable?
Also, the snow one... do we have terrain depicting a snowy landscape?
Also also, who is running all these games? You? That would seem to be a lot of work.

| Mork-Jun-Kil! Orkoreans! I'll start demanding oil in exchange for a temporary halt to my janky-ass missile testing program immediately!

Snowy Landscape: check! (santa's village provided some cheap snow-covered trees after christmas) and we have a white matt and some white hills to round out the table.
Lots of events: yes, but no more than last year. Many are recycled to boot.
Most of the events require us to set up a table with terrain, then hand the people a scenario. They can use their own armies to play.
Last year we had all this stuff planned, but people just showed up to play. Scheduling events helps antina's crew get prize support from GW and attracts new people to Rock-Con. With our absolute veto power, we can now limit WKE incidents, especially for games involving D-Company people.
The battletech events are scheduled and set so that people aren't chasing me down for figs and sheets while I'm playing. There was an angry chris event last year.
Battletech is big in rockford and beloit, and Antina's crew asked us to set up some games. Pulling sheets and figs ahead of time, we can juts let them play. Last year we had a good sized bunch wanting to play a bunch of games. Antina is trying to get us some special 1/285 scale terrain for them to play on as well.
My list of things to do this year is fairly short. Other than the pack out/in, I need to recover a bunch of terrain from Dale's house, build/paint some larger building/ruins and finish my salamanders for the Rock-con perimeter game.

| I could help run the opposing battletech side. If needed. Otherwise, I'll be playing in one or more of those battletech games anyway.

That'll work, or we could have our own games of battletech. I still love the system.

Umm... all the recent Necromunda discussion has me a little amped up about playing that game again. I've got enough terrain for a really nice 4'x4' board.
Would you want me to do anything with that? It wouldn't be too much of a problem for me to set something up. And if GW is going to be there with us, maybe it'd be nice to have more than just 40k there???
Leaving that stuff at home would be easier for me though, obviously. But I'd bring it if you think it's a good idea and that we'd play.

Bring it if it works for you. We have lots of space this year.
