Please clarify for me...how is the cannon destroyed?
If you tell me by killing the attached tech marine, then explain why the codex says "the tech marine does not benefit from...unless his thunderfire cannon has been destroyed?"

| I dont have the codex, but if it is artilary hits to the unit are randomized between the gun and crew per the BRB.

That's an easy one. This unit has a unit type of Artillary, which is explained on pg 55 of the main rule book.
The quick answer is, the cannon can be destoryed by either killing the techmarine who is manning it, or by causing a glancing or penetrating hit to the gun itself. (The artillary rules explain how this happens)

so i read the rules, and get the allocating hits part. what i dont understand is that if, for example, a krak missile hits, and the hit is allocated to the gun, how do i know if it gets penned or glanced?
the thunderfire has no AV.

I think all artillery pieces have an AV of 10.
Not sure where I am remembering that from though. ?
