Can I attach multiple characters to 1 unit? For example, could I have a unit of terminators with a chaplain and a librarian? Could I also deploy them together?

I believe so, its just that when they are joined, they loose IC status for targetting during the shooting phase, (except for special units and powers that allow you to target a single model in a said unit).  They are treated as individual IC's in close combat though.

Those are for normal games though........  In Apoc., you can do pretty much anything you want.;)

If they are attatched to the unit you would not roll for them seperate.

Can you attach them prior to deployment?  If so, then yeah, you could roll once for the whole big group to come on.

I just am not sure you can do that.

There is one more thing that I would like to comment on, and that is the use of certain IC's 'special' ruleset.  I am talking in particular, about Ghazkull joining a kommando squad led by Snikrot.  There is some debate about whether or not if you join those two together that snikrot can come in from the back of the table. If you can do this, it makes a huge advantage to the ork player and may bring some hard feeling out.  This should probably be one of those things hashed out before the game starts, just to keep the whining down a bit.

2 more cents.;)

?

I thought that wasn't allowed - the infiltrating Ghazgkull thing.

Isn't there a ruling about ICs joining units that can't share in the unit's special rules?

Yeah there is, your completely right.  However there is arguments about RAW and RAI that are at odds here.  I myself wouldn't do it, but in a game against somebody you don't know very well...........;)

I seem to remember an FAQ that covered this, but now I think I might have been thinking 4th edition FAQ's.  I couldn't find it in the current FAQ area.

RAW argument says that a Special or Independent Character joining a squad does not confer or benefit from Universal Special Rules.

Rules for Snikrot are just "Special Rules," not USR.  I think that's the crux of their argument.

Anyone who does it isn't playing friendly, and should be watched with suspicion.
