Soooooo, What a weekend .My god I can't believe that so much beer and food and games happened in such a short(but very enjoyable)time.
11:06 Tim shows up followwed by Brad and Travis about 10min later.
Kevin thompson about 30 min later and the games begun.
Thanks all of you that got to come and enjoy(we had about 8-10 people stay over night and around 20 nerds show up all weekend)the rousing success that is Dalecon.
For my own part,I got 4 reg games in and was in the massive grot game on Sat night.Unfortunately,I have to say that my dice were not with me this weekend(out of 3 1500pt games and 1 2000pt game I only had 4 ripper swarms,1defiler,1 vindicator,1 trukk,1 warboss, and 3 deffkoptas survive the experience),but the 5 berserkers in the grot game ran through the bombs into eternal glory.
The rest of this is going to be for picts and other comments on the experience so thanks everyone for coming and I can't wait for next year (cause this is going to happen again for sure,I'll keep everybody posted on the date)

Thank you as well Dale I had a great time!
Game 1 vs Dale I took a Khorne Army vs Orcs and I found out How well Beserkers are against an Orc army w/o a nob squad.
Game 2 vs Black Templar I took a nurgle army w/ Abbadon and Karne wow survey says lots of Black Templar terminators Dead.
Game 3 Sunday me and dacio with mostly nurgle took on Dale and Tim w/ orcs the Orcs won at the bottom of 5. My learning Nobs really do suck and need to be killed in 3 shooting phases because you won't do it in HtH or in 1 turn of shooting and if they are mounted in a truck make it the first thing you shoot no matter what else is on the board.
Dacio Rocks good seeing you again!

Yes indeed, that was a good time. Thanks to Dale for putting together an amazing spread. Excellent food, beer, and games. I only got to play Saturday, but it was worth the trip. Some thoughts:
Mephiston is one bad mutherfucker. damn. You'll never hear me complain about 225 pts with no inv save again.
Jay arriving sober, and within two hours being loaded and finishing off the crock of chili. I weep for his colon.
Mark dealing with ten people playing grot hunting and NOT losing his mind. Seriously, there must have been 250 orks/gretchin on the table steadily moving towards fifty various player characters. Grey Knights no like red squigs.
Batteries could be a fun game, lose the 3+ invulnerable save and maybe put a cap on cheese. I should play again before judging too harshly though.
Overall, a great time
Thanks Dale

that was one of the best times I've had in a LOOONNNNGG time.
There was a endless trough of chili and BBQ ribs that lasted the 36 hours I was there. There was enough meat/cheese and beer to clog the artiries of an entire 3rd world country.
I got to play in a 1 on 1 on 1 against Pen Dull and Seti which I was brought to tears in laughter multiple times (I hate my F$#%ing FLash Gitz!!!)
I saw the worst game of Ft. Pillow(the Batteries game) we ever seen. I blame the sheer strategic briliance of SETI and myself. We're clearly too good NOT to break that game for all time. Without Silas joining the game (and doing a damn fine job trying to save a hopless cause), We'd have had them all dead by turn 3.
When I comes to the Grot Game, I pity the fool(Thefool is Pen Dull)!! But he was great for trying to run a TOUGH untrested game event with an oversized crew with about 15 Pale Ales in his belly. AMAZING!
Forming a giant Waaagh with Dale in the Sunday game against Brad and Dacio's Chaos was a great game which was so close I was still conviced they were going to win decisively until the end of the game...where a mob of fresh slugga boyz and some amazing posturing by Dale's warboss won us the game. phew....
After getting to Dale's on Saturday at 11am and crawling back into home at 6:30 on Sunday, I spent the best of sunday night passed out.
I absolutely CANNOT wait until next time!

I'm not sure it happened on Sunday due to the fact that they were both pretty rough when they woke up ,but once again I'm not sure.Tim and I teamed up on Dacio and Brad and that was one hell of a game,so I wasn't watching too close.

The catch phrase for the weekend was"are you cheating Dale?" answer "Yes I am, so what are you gonna do about it?"
The biggest highlight is that somehow we managed to go through 6 rolls of toilet paper in a weekend (man,I'm glad I remembered to stock up beforehand )

I took alot of pictures, but haven't had the time to put them on the computer yet. They're still just on the camera.
Dale and I talked about it all and we've made a few safe assumptions:
Over 20lbs of pork
Over 8lbs of beef
It was really great to see some people I hadn't seen in a year, or even years. I give Bro Silas the props for jumping into a game that should have ended a turn earlier. I'm not quite sure what went on there.
Thanks to everyone who was patient during Great Grot Hunting. I designed it for about 4-5 people. Playing with 10 was overwhelming, but still had some flavor to it. Sorry about the sudden appearance of squigs that took out some people quickly, but the game seemed broken by that time already as well. Changes I'd make: 1) have someone else help. 2) have all grots explode at a single d6 initiative. 3) have the red grots appear more frequently.
My first game was a multiplayer against Seti and Derling. It WAS hilarious. I'm now very afraid of deffrollas,
Then I played Fort Pillow (batteries game). I still think this game can (and will) work in the future. We've playtested it for the third time, this being the first time in this edition. The 3+ cover save for being in the Fort was meant to make up for the fact that the Fort blocked line of sight (area terrain) in the last edition. That might be the problem. Another fix is just knowing that diving into the middle with everything you got is probably a bad idea. Maybe each side should start with one battery each.
I went to bed at 3:30am, and woke up at 7:15am with a splitting headache hangover. Dale got to see me at my hangover best, gripping onto the side of the sink and almost barfing while cooking a pound of breakfast sausage.
That day, I started by playing on a team with Stormcaller with 4k orks and nids vs. Twainm's Guard and Branmaw's Demons. While the huge number of nurgled demons were tough as crap, I took this totally broken Nobzilla list that pretty much ploughed its way through the demons and had the guard surrounded by turn 5. The genestealers helped by blowing up vehicles like fireworks during the grand finale.
Then I took on Twainm's Necron tourney list, and tied it in capture and control. The game ended, but if it had gone on another turn I'm convinced that I could have taken an objective. A high-point for me was having two Nobz squads dropkick two monoliths and detonate both of them in a single assault. Thanks for letting me do something so cool. Heh.
Sunday night I went home and curled up on the couch and waited for things to digest in my stomach. It was a great time, but I paid for it 8 hrs later.

I found out I did cheat in batteries I did not have a troop selection as demons do not count for troops anymore damn BEER clouding my memory.
Maybe I would have lived more than 1 turn if I had not screwd up.

I found out I cheated when I counted all of my die rolls of 1's as 6's....which appearantly is no longer legal in 5th edition.

Wow. I've been drunk enough to actually see triple (rather than double), but not sextuple! Man! You've must've been hammered!

What a day! i walked in just before 9am, and wasn't sure if i was at DALECON or the set for Night of the Living Dead! After initial greetings and a tasty but totally "guy"(read unhealthy) breakfast, the undead began to stir and we migrated into the basement...
Mark and I took on B and Rob in a xenos vs. guard/daemon smackdown. 25 stealers coming on right next to 2 bassies and a russ made for explosions galore! lots of smashed metal and toasty nids, but fun none the less. marks' nobs pounded shit unmercifully, and we called it after a few turns.
My second game was against jay (finally! ), and he brought an iron warriors drop pod army...awesome. as brad said to me, "now you know how it feels!" would have been a lot closer if jay had not failed, oh, almost ALL of his reserve rolls in the next four turns! he even missed 2 out of 4 on turn 4!!! my nids were able to pick him apart, and when his sorcerer failed to turn my godfex into a spawn, it was pretty much over. it was just good getting to play him...it had been a long time.
after almost 10 hours at the Dale villa, Jay and i finally pulled out around 7.
was great to see Silas (not since the Big Game 2 years ago) and Dacio (not since last years DALECON). we have got to get a game in soon, nurgle man!
many, many thanks to the Dalemeister for hosting an utterly awesome event! and thank god he came into the kitchen when he did...i would have eaten all 3 racks of fucking ribs if he hadn't stopped me! they were too damn good!
DALECON 2009 is only about 360 days away!
