Hi,

Welcome to the latest Forge World Newsletter. Games Day UK is fast approaching and we’re busy filling trucks with stock and display models. The office is starting to look a little bare with all the models put in boxes. The display at Games Day will be worth seeing though as we’ll have most of the models in our range on show along with the new items and a few Games Day specials. I saw some pretty big boxes being packed in the FW Design Studio earlier, so you’ll want to stop by their stand. I hope to see many of you at Games Day. We also have a new range of products to show you too.

Phaeton Pattern Imperial Complex – Anphelion Base
Phaeton Pattern Imperial Complex – Anphelion Base As many of you already know, the next Imperial Armour Volume is the “Anphelion Project.” There has been lots of discussion over the preview picture of a Terminator in a corridor shown in Volume 3: Taros Campaign. Well, Forge World’s first base complex is now complete and available to pre-order. This is an incredibly detailed terrain set which can be organised however you’d like. The rooms and corridors can be assembled and left unattached so that you can change the layout every time you play. The roof pieces are all removable and the walls are fully detailed on both sides enabling you to have battles inside, outside and through the complex. The doors can also be removed so they can be used as obstacles or to hide nasty surprises behind. The exterior of the buildings are detailed with shutters, panelling, vents, cabling, windows, locking points for each section and buttresses with automatic piles driven into the ground stabilising the building. The interior is just as detailed with corresponding locking points and strong industrial feel to the styling. Cabling snakes across the walls and ceiling, pipes run down the corridors, access points and storage containers all add to the dark feel of the complex. It’s the room details that really stand out however. Each wall is recessed to allow a detail panel to be placed in it, thereby allowing the rooms to be customisable and allowing you to specify the tasks performed in it. Wall pieces include data storage units, chemical tanks, xenos containment chambers, roof access points, scribe desks and several more. Another piece of interest is the dissection table, a rather nightmarish device with servo arms wielding assorted blades and implements and computer screens to display the information gathered. Also in the set is a Landing Pad, complete with guidance lights and servicing points. The mastermind behind this base complex is Darren Parrwood and he’s spent many months hunched over his desk oblivious to the world creating the base. Once completed, the pieces were handed over to Mark Bedford who has created a terrain board incorporating all these pieces showing the Anphelion Base in situ on the planet. We have some photos of it to show you but if you want a proper look, you’ll need to be at Games Day where it will be on display.

Games Day Specials
At Games Days, we always have a few event only models and this one will be no exception. Available at this year’s Games Day will be the Multi-part Epic Space Marine, the 1:6th Scale Imperial Guard Laspistol, a range of colour prints from Imperial Armour Volume 3: Taros Campaign and a new Kroot Bird. These are only available at Games Days and a couple of other select events, so don’t miss your chance to get them. Also, we are hoping to get some extra castings of the detailed room panels from the Phaeton Pattern Complex for Games Day, if we manage it then you’ll be able to buy room panels for use in dioramas or your own scenery.
