I didn't see anything about the big game.  How am I going to know when it is?

:P

thanks for catching that.  I guess there's a public/private option I didn't click.  it should be there now.

I have updated the schedule on the big game calender to reflect times and things that will happen when they are supposed to.  Simply click on the file that is attached to the Big Game 2010 area on the 5th and the 6th.  For most of you there will be a green and a blue area on the date.  The info is in the blue file.

For some reason that I hope can be fixed, I don't seem to be able to get the Big Ass Game one on my screen to fill in, but when Joseph logs in, he gets it.  Small problem that has been taken care of, but I wonder why?  Derling?  Any insights on this occurance?

I'm not sure I understand the nature of the problem.  can you be more specific?

Joe's screen shows a green area that says Big Ass Game, and a blue area that says Big game 2010 on it in the dates of March 5th and 6th.  While he cannot really do any public changes to the dates, he can do private changes to it.

I can do public changes to it cause of the moderater staus I think, but I don't have a green area to do any changes in.

It really doesn't matter that much.  I think that I have all of the info for the game down in the blue one anyway's, and that's fine with me.  I was just wondering about it.  The screens when we log on are different.

I just had an idea to try, so I'll get back to ya in a few.;)

Well, I tried changing my screen mode to the 2 default settings, thinking that might change it, but of course it didn't:(.

Don't worry about it too much, it's really not that big of a deal.

if you are seeing a calandar item in green that means it's a personal entry and will only be viewable by the user that creates it.  when you edit view or edit the entry, you should have the capacity to set a calandar item to public or private via a set of check boxes2/3rds down the screen.

Then i guess you haven't created any private entries.

Right???

And maybe Joe HAS created a private entry called Big Ass Game.  And so for him, his private "Big Ass Game" entry is green, but you don't see it, as it is a private entry that Joe has made for himself.

that is what I'm assuming.

I can see the Big Game events on the calendar, if that's what you are asking.

...still waiting on the Objectives summary though.  :P

Reviving this old thread.

I just deleted about 300 user accounts which were likely spambots.  (I think I did it safely, but if I deleted any new users please let me know and im sorry).

I'm going to be changing the background architecture of the user accounts in a few weeks after I set up the design.  This will have no visible effect for existing users (other than those with the status "member" will likely become "D-company member" or something like that)

The intent of this is to create a "pending member" section who will not have regular access to the forum and can be approved.  This will save me tons of time researching if a new member account is valid or spam.  This is a common method for small forums trying to limit the effect of spambots on their forums.

Excellent idea.  Maybe someone should have to pass a "quiz" in order to join.  Something really easy that any 40k player should know.

Like: "Range of a pistol is how far?"
